Fram Endurance - synthetic and wire backed

Lost some sales to those of us that want full synthetic media. No XG's or Titanium for me. Miss the originals along with the Fram X2 original and the FPS (Fram Pro Synthetic).

Glad to see the new FE filter join the PH/CH, TG, and XG line

Not in stock and not shippable yet ... just going to have to wait some more

Got the sh1tbox covered here:

So you’re willing to sign your life away to a filter that you don’t know the efficiency ratings of? You still buying a dozen of these if the shared efficiency just remains “99%” with no micron ratings, or turns out to be 99%@40 microns?

Not just directed at you, but the high school girl fawning over Fram so soon after they pulled the rug out from under the Ultra fans is a little weird.

As long as its full synthetic media, I am not worried about efficiency ratings. The only spec that I am wondering about is gram capacity.
A filter that is in bypass excessively for the final 7k of a 10k interval is useless to me. But, I wouldn't run any oil or filter that long.

Looks to be a Royal Purple in a Fram can ... so efficiency should be up there pretty good. Maybe not as good as the OG Ultra, but real close like Ascent testing showed (graph posted earlier). Royal Purple was actually a filter on my option list over the new Ultra. And if the Titanium goes the way of the new Ultra media, then this Fram Endurance looks even better as an option.

I like the idea and I’m hopeful- but until there’s hard evidence on Fram’s website and in my hands, forgive me if I keep some skepticism in my voice. 👍🏻

In my neck of the woods this Fram is replacing the Mobil 1 Filters At Walmart and we're also getting shelf space for Gonher Made Nissan Filters And Honda filters. Have a week to get the whole Oil Aisle "Reset". Pennzoil Black Label FSHM replacing the Blend High Mileage As well.

I’d still take the titanium over this simply due to the hole design. Larger holes on the titanium. View attachment 144401View attachment 144402
I would take the Endurance over the Titanium because of the Endurance's wire backed 2-ply synthetic media combined with Ecore center core, the flow is going to be better than louvers & possibly sprayed-on synthetic over blend UNREINFORCED media construction (newer Titanium) for a long (or multiple) OCI. Otherwise there's really no reason to spend the extra $, just slap on a $2 ST or Champ & call it a day for 5K!

Depends on how clean the engine is-I've done 20K (actually 19,700) on an oversize XG3600 OG Ultra on the xB 1.5 1NZFE in my sig (2~10K M1 EP 5W30 OCIs), but the 6.0 LS in my Express in my sig would never make it that far-4X larger engine, smaller oil filter, launching carbon-no bueno.

Interesting.
I cleared my computer cache, and yet I when I look at the Fram site, I don't see this filter in their lineup.

Walmart.com sells them, however, the FRAM website does not list these new filters as of yet.

This looks to be a combination between the FRAM Titanium sold exclusively at Advance Auto Parts and the previous version of the FRAM Ultra. It's a filter I would definitively use and recommend.

If you're looking for a specific FRAM Endurance oil filter, then just add the letters "FE" in front of the filter number you already have or are thinking of getting. For example FRAM XG2 becomes FRAM FE2.

Some FRAM filters have been cheapened as it looks like they're now sourced from China, like the Ultra oil filter for the Pentastar V6, and some air filters. Overall FRAM is not a bad brand. As far as cutting costs, they're doing similar things to everyone else in the business.

I believe that filters should be evaluated on a "model-by-model" and not on a "brand-by-brand" basis.

This is actually a product I'm excited about! Now, if FRAM would stop selling those low quality Made in China oil and air filters, well, that would be a win for everyone.

Has the media been verified as 2-ply? I haven't notice it in the marketing or pictures yet.

Even a single ply is plenty good... Wix XP, Ryco Syntec, RoyalPurple, Amsoil, Baldwin, TRD, Napa Platinum, forgotten Bosch Distance Plus, original Fram X2, and the orignal Peak HardDriver

I don't car for interval marketing of ANY filter since this, like all others, will have small print that fools don't read. Amsoil has had numerous bulletins over the years. Here are some, but not all, of the Amsoil known crud monsters that defeated the 'marketing' department.

Provides up to 20,000 miles/32,000 km of protection when used with an appropriate synthetic oil. Follow recommended change intervals as outlined in your owner’s manual.

We don't have too many automakers recommending 20k mile filter intervals. And, some that did, even had 'time' limitations too.

Amsoil had to learn the hard way... from their growing list of technical bulletins:

AMSOIL no longer recommends EaO09, EaO10 or EaO57 Filters with any Toyota/Lexus application.

AMSOIL recommends changing the EaO13 Oil Filter according to OEM-recommended intervals in the following applications: • 2001-2010 Honda • 2002-2010 Acura • 1992-2006 Chrysler imports • 1993-1997 Ford Probe • 1996-2010 Nissan/Infiniti • 1971-2000 Mazda • 1999-2000 Mercury Villager • 1990-2010 Mitsubishi • 2004-2007 Saturn

AMSOIL recommends the WIX 57060 oil filter for Suzuki/GM 3.6L V6 engine applications. AMSOIL does not recommend the use of the EaO50 or EaO47 filters with applications powered by the Suzuki/GM 3.6L V6 engine. These applications include, but are not limited to, the following vehicles: • 2008-2009 Buick Enclave with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Buick Lacrosse with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Chevrolet Malibu with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Chevrolet Equinox Sport with 3.6L V6 engine • 2007-2009 GMC Acadia with 3.6L V6 engine • 2007-2009 Pontiac G6 GTP with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Pontiac Torrent GXP with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Pontiac G6 GXP with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 with 3.6L V6 engine • 2007-2009 Saturn Aura XR with 3.6L V6 engine • 2007-2009 Saturn Outlook with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Saturn Vue XR with 3.6L V6 engine • 2008-2009 Saturn Vue Red Line with 3.6L V6 engine • 2007-2009 Suzuki XL-7 with 3.6L V6 engine

AMSOIL EA15K50 Oil Filter Temporarily Not Recommended for Select Ram and GM Applications
We are no longer recommending the AMSOIL EA15K50 Oil Filter for 2007-2013 GM vehicles with the 5.3L engine and 2013-current Ram vehicles with the 5.7L or 6.4L engines.

I guess the above info is good support for those of us that use oversized filters and sane change intervals and don't practice extended filter interval foolishness based on marketing.

And with so many showing hate for the filtration of the WixXp and its clone(not sure anymore) Napa Platinum. What filter holds the most? I'd love to meet the team that balanced micron rating with holding capacity. I also understand that the Xp/Platinum media might be in a state of flux since I've sheen some that look too much like the Purolator Boss. Merger/acquisitions create confusion.

Capacity Compairson Graph Pic 1.webp

Or that some automakers' filter capability, like Toyota or Hyundai, were good 50+ micron rock catchers. So, why is a 35 micron XP/Platinum so bad when it beats OE filtration? Old data but makes a point
amsoilmicronvstoyota.webp

And Hyundai's youtube anti knockoff filter video years ago bragged about OE 50 micron capability that the knock-offs couldn't meet. There is a UOA and particle count in the UOA section years ago that showed the 50 micron ability of the Hyundai -35503 cannister filter too that supported the Hyundai deleted youtube video. 50 micron good enough for Honda, Toyota, Hyundai.....

And YES, I would use the FE Fram even if it had a 30-40 micron rating, as long as it has a better than average gram holding capacity, and filtered flow rates. A
BTW,@SubieRubyRoo, there are plenty of millions of filters that have been overhyped and used by millions of owners for decades that NEVER HAD micron filtration ratings or holding capacity that were published or marketed. Some of these brands are pushed simply because of nationalism, or because they looked good. Those 4 Euro brands are commonly seen in the cut open filter forum. So, if no one questions those brands, why would I fear or doubt Fram FE? Take a few common filter PN numbers from Hengst, MH, Purflux, Mahle... gets tons of love with no one ever questioning their gram holding or single/multi or absolute micron ratings. So yes, I would definitely blindly use the Fram FE filters without questioning Fram based on their past single and double layer full synthetic offerings.

If I really wanted real filtration, I'd install a Trasko, Stilko, or Frantz and use toilet paper. The full flow filter is a fools joke.

New at Walmart. Wire backed and synthetic media. $13.00.
Currently I'm using the Fram Ultra 7317 and sometimes I run those for an oil change or two sometimes three to get close to the 15 or 20,000 mile range. Is this new filter just going to a lot me one more oil change interval? I would like to see a little bit more duration before I have to change oil but I don't know if we're getting to that point like they did with the extended performance oil that was annually changed from Exxon Mobil. I think eventually there comes a point where you want to change it because if you have something in there like foreign debris or dirt the easiest way to get rid of it or remove it is to change it. Although thank you for posting the pictures I will take a look today when I get to Walmart here in El Dorado
