Is the fram endurance the new ultra?

The endurance is first Brands sad attempt to replace the OG ultra. Particularly the cannisters.
First Brands should have just kept the wire-backed Ultra (mainly the spin-on) and not even come out with the Endurance, even if they had to raise the price of the Ultra a bit. The Endurance is only sold at Walmart, while the Ultra is all over the place for sale. Seems like a lame sales model to me.

Whats better than this to you? What metrics are there that this filter fails to perform better than against another?
Better to me is when I can go to a store or online and get Donaldson cheaper. First Brands and Endurance don’t impress me. We already saw issues as posted in this section. You can’t close your eyes to these and as poster said it’s sad only zeal Mart sells the endurance. Nuff’ said

I always figured when filters were discussed that filtration and construction would be the critical metrics vs. where I buy things. Does Donaldson make a filter for my Sportwagen to compare it against? I need to check. Keep in mind I am talking about a cartridge filter here and I what I have seen of the canisters gives substance to your comments/preferences, so I get that but for MY filter and MY car, the Endurance looks hard to beat!
