Fram filter missing gasket

2016 Mazda CX-5 2.5L Skyactive
I’m sure I made the right decision. I opened the box on this Fram Synthetic Endurance and lo and behold, no gasket. I had already drained the oil, so I ran to O’Reilly and picked up a micro guard mid oil change.
I’m just asking because this is a new filter exclusive to Walmart, so I’m wondering if the seal is built into the can or is the rubber gasket missing?

But if they're the same size I'd probably take the gasket off the old filter and put it on the new one.

I once bought an oil filter where they forgot to tap the mounting thread.

I am sure we will see a lot of quality issues with the last run of those Frams (probably Autolite plugs too) as they were shut down out of business. I wouldn't risk and Frams right now because who knows what the inside looks like and what a disgruntled employee may have done.

Sadly I found an OG Fram XG3600 on a clearance table - no threads

Seen that a few times. Was real common 5 years ago with wix filters.

The following is the current means of deciphering some of the major oil filter date codes.
As we gain more info, the thread will be updated, and as we become aware of changes, we'll make those updates as well.

Note: the date code is what we are specifically addressing. Manufacturer internal info such as what faciliy location, assy line, shift could all be possible reasons for the other numbers; this is a common practice in manufacuring.

FYI - The Endurance is made by Champ Labs, so probably has a Champ Labs date code.

I didn’t know that. I two Ultra Synthetics on the shelf to use on my Jeep. It was very well regarded by some friends.
