Ford Edge - 1 Deer - 1

I also kinda think they're cutting up "good" cars from First World countries because they're easier to transport that way. And maybe they then avoid fees or tariffs or customs on a "motor vehicle." The donor car looked great except for being a unibody that was shipped as a multi-body....?
Could be, a lot of stuff goes through shipping containers and IIRC only like 1% of them are checked. Would be nice to x-ray every container, seems like a massive security lapse, but logistically hard to do.

We are STILL trying to replace this vehicle. Market stinks. Just got back from driving an otherwise nice Edge but it smelled of dawg. No bueno.
If the price is right an ozone machine is cheap enough. Having written that, I would have to wonder if dog hair has clogged up the HVAC, etc. as well.

My Volvo smelled of dog too. We had to vacuum the interior several times and used febreze. There was a lot of hair everywhere. It smells and looks good now. One of the best buys for the money. I agree to not let that part stop them. Pay a detailer if they don't want to mess with it. Use it as a bargaining angle? 🤔

I'd really be leery about any vehicle smells. Our Camry was an ex rental and no matter what has been tried on warmer days (even in the garage) you can smell the lingering cigarette smell. No smoking stickers on rentals mean nothing to people

I looked for a long time around Christmas and the vast majority of what I looked at was pure junk. Keep looking - one will pop up. Don't settle.

Its amazing to me how many dealers are unwilling to pay for a proper details. A good detailer will clean, shampoo and ozone the dog smell out for a likely a few hundred bucks. If the seller is unwilling I would tell them to kick rocks.

I think the worst was when I showed up to AutoNation to look at a somewhat overpriced MDX. I am OK paying "too much" if its perfect. It had a giant undisclosed dent in the front fender. Not a scrape, an outright dent pushed in about 8 inches. The car functioned but they wanted like $14K for the thing - was I believe 2012 or so? :ROFLMAO:

Clearly the used market is completely out of whack. Who are the people buying these things? Desperate I presume. I am keeping the plus 1 car, might make it plus 2 in the near future.

Depends - the market is relatively normal (if not soft) for new. For used, I guess it depends on what you're looking for and the price point. I will say that dealers are generally pricing vehicles to what they want for them and leaving less room for negotiations.

Also, what you can get for $20K today is probably not what you had in mind.
