If you had start up chain noise...believe me....you'd know it regardless of experience. You'd think someone dumped a box of ball bearings in you crankcase...yeah....it's that bad. Book says to replace plugs at 105K I think, so at 94K, you are due. Those COP's are notorious for going bad. Take it to Autozone and get a free error read out. Don't laugh, but I've had problems with mine before similar to yours, and it was the fuel filter. Ford loves to go through fuel filters more than any other car I've ever owned. Your truck might have went into "limp home mode" if it got that bad.

I know they are fixing my leaky valve cover gaskets and replacing the spark plugs. There was oil in the #8 hole so I figured it was time for them to be changed as well.
It's not like they said "Hey we found some things wrong, we're going to fix them" and I said ok. They told me what it was but I forgot but I believed they said cylinders.

Okayyyyyyy......
So it was the coil packs on cyl 3,4,6 they replaced. So I got the cylinders right, just not the right part.
They said I had a small weep and told me they didn't want to fix it, apparently they are a huge pain in the arse to replace the VCG so I'm gracious they saved me money.
So spark plugs replaced and coil packs on cyl 3,4,6 were replaced and my truck is a happy camper that is due for its oil change very soon

That's wild that you'd have three coils fail simultaneously. We've had three fail as well, but they were all at vastly different mileages. Glad to hear it wasn't the timing chain guides! That's a far more expensive fix.
Also, if you hear what sounds like an exhaust leak at some point in the future, HAVE IT CHECKED! Sometimes the plugs will back out and if you don't catch it, they will blow-out, taking the threads with them. The three-thread heads are not tolerant of galling either, so if the threads were damaged at all during the removal, a popped plug is a distinct possibility. We have an insert on #4 for that very reason.
