I plan on adding this at the recommended rate of 2 oz per 5 gallons of gas. On my initial use should I put in 6 oz for the usual 15 gallon fillup or 7.75 ounces since the tank is suppose to hold 19 3/8 gallons. I fillup on empty but apparently there is still about 4 gallons of fuel left if the owners manual is giving me the correct tank size. This is for a 2001 Nissan Xterra.

Better to go conservative rather than over dosing. I wouldnt sweat the fine detail too much, given it's not a 2-cycle motor.

Thanks for the reply... I'll stick with the 6oz. to 15 gallons then

Good advice...

MMO is not 2 stroke oil.
A little overdose is OK.
MMO reps state even more is OK, so either way I wouldn't worry, except for costs.

You might want to play with the amount. My Kia has a 15 gal tank also, and I use 4.5 oz. If I were to use 6 oz, I would end-up with more than 4oz/10 gal concentration. I try to refill when I have about 1/8 of tank left, so I can get only 12-13 gallons of gas in. If I were to add full 6 oz, I'd be over-treating the gas, since the gas in the tank already has MMO. With 4.5 oz per 12 gal it works out to be about 3.75 oz per 10 gal. Enough to increase my mileage, but low enough to keep me from compounding the concentration and loosing MPGs.

Before that I used to add 6 oz to every other fill, but it got old quick. With 2 vehicles it is a pain to keep track of untreated vs treated gas tanks.

My Isuzu has a 19.5 gal tank and now I add 6 oz of MMO to every tank.

On my Volvo S60, I'm getting best results with approx 5 oz for 18 gallons. I got the idea from StevieC to use a clear Lucas UCL bottle (I use the small bottle that holds 5.25 oz) and keep it filled in the car. Simplifies measuring and pours easily into the tank.

+1 but you will see mpgs drop if you add too much. During the winter months I like to increase the dose slightly going to 4.5-5 ounces/10 gallons of gas. I think it gives an extra margin of protection during extreme cold, especially for the first start of the day. Also the winter fuel mix is different and probably needs all the UCL help it can get.
