Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant substitute for 93 Octane?

When I first got my 79 BMW motorcycle it used to ping slightly on 95 Ron fuel as it was supposed to need 98 Ron.

I know the theory about oil reducing octane but my experience of dosing TCW3 2 stroke oil at 1;640 is that the pinging disappeared. While I can understand the cleaning effect of TCW3 might eventually be responsible, the pinging was eliminated overnight. I have no explanation of why it works but it does and I heard one or two others say the same.

On my 1974 R60/6 I had the same issue....I used a product back then from Moroso called octane boost...It did work...

I have had premium required and recommended cars for years and I'm not unwilling to use it if it really needs it. Now you are saying that lucas products will destroy my engine.. I don't think so.. but I get your point about high compression engines. Just because I ask the question, doesn't mean I'm not willing to buy premium. This car is replacing my wife's 1996 Mercedes C220 I bought her new and filled with premium gas and used Mobil 1 exclusively from day 1. Only saw it go because my daughter wrecked it. It only had 120k on it too.
Thanks for your opinion.
Have you checked the prices for a replacement engine? They're not cheap.

Run shell v-power 93 if you can get it easily. Exxon or chevron also top tier.

I’ve had the pleasure of reconditioning the top end of a LR engine that was neglected and probably saw 87 oct most if not all of 100k miles. Wasn’t pretty. Engine was spec’d to run premium. Seriously nasty intake build up on the valves for a port injection engine.

Since it’s a BMW, I’d run a bottle of LM Jectron last tank before oil change, just cause it would feel like the proper choice.

So, is there something that is good for occasionally cleaning injectors or are they all a waste of money and injectors don't need cleaning via gas additives? You got me a liitle confused as I watch my well constructed bubble of misinformation that I apparently have been living in crumble slowly into rubble around me.
PS: i own TurboDiesel too... love it.
Seafoam is not known to be in the top tier of injection cleaners. As GM Boy's post above has alluded to. The only fuel system/injector cleaner I have seen posting an octane increase is Redline S1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner, "Redline says " 2 octane points" in their posted page. As a skeptic on their marketing. I myself will cut it in half to 1 point and still somewhat question it could just be marketing lies.
