Condolences to his family. He certainly was a colorful character, although I'm surprised the obituary doesn't mention his years owning an engine building shop and prominence in the local engine building community.

Maybe he always just wanted to have an engine shop.
People can be anything online.
I always got a chuckle from his posts.
RIP

Obituaries can be strange things, what gets in depends on who writes it. Just because it isn't mentioned in his obituary does not mean he didn't have an engine shop at some point.

You would think that something that was such a large part of his life both in time (he owned it for a while) and in passion (he seemed to have a huge passion for engines and rebuilding them) would have made it into the obituary, even as a passing mention.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fraternal Order of Police New Jersey Lodge 46, P.O. Box 111, Rochelle Park, NJ 07662-0111.

Check sent in his name.

RIP Brian.

RIP
Condolences to his friends and family.
His passing is a reminder that none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow on this earth; we should live for today and not pass up opportunities to show kindness to those we meet and/or care about.

RIP.

I too assumed he was younger.
His posts often made me laugh. I liked the fact that he would spar with other BITOGers without ever getting mean (at least I never saw a mean post).

So sad to hear this news!

Nothing in the obit about having a brother either who was supposed to own a transmission shop. And he just talked about that recently. Oh well onwards and upwards.

Not necessarily. My best friend who passed away completely unexpectedly in his sleep at the young age of 35, was a highly regarded Police Officer for years, and was so at the time of his passing. He also loved riding Motorcycles. Neither of those facts made it into his Obituary. Instead, his Family mentioned many of his other qualities and interests.

RIP, Brian. Sincerest Condolences to your Family and Friends.

To our brother Brian,

May the good Lord grant you Peace.

I was going to post the other day about the NICE seals on the Havoline/Chevron oil that I used over the weekend.

I shall forever remember him every time I break open a sealed oil container.

He loved working on cars, and he loved his oil. He loved to blog here and share his insight as well as learn from his fellow bloggers."

Wow.

Condolences to friends and family, i'm sorry i missed this thread.

Celebrate his life and his passions, for this is how we shall remember him.

Brian would not want us to be sad. If he were here he would tell us to cheer up, smile and remember all of the great memories we all shared.

god bless my friend.
