For people wondering on his age (I know he seemed younger than he must have been), here is the thread from 2014 that details him selling the engine shop to one of the guys that worked for him:

Crazyoildude selling his engine shop.

Sounds like he was hoping to enjoy his retirement. I hope he at least did get to enjoy the time he had.

The obituary implied he was a partner in a locksmith business. Did he ever mention that? Not that I remember...

Well stated Bryan.

I will miss crazyoildude's ocd posts and the nuggets truth that those posts carried within. One could tell he was quite a fun character. You could tell that he truly was a good natured soul. I agree with tig1's sentiments. Amazingly well said man.

I just went on his profile and added him to my UBB buddies. I always liked him and that will make it feel like he's not so far away.

RIP Crazyoildude. Condolences to his family and hope they read this and see how much he will be missed.

I don't think that is Crazyoildude. The linked obit states that gentleman was a locksmith and no mention of autos or a machine shop. Crazyoildude had said on numerous occasions he owned a machine shop and only recently sold it. For something to be such a large part of his life like his business I'd think it would have been mentioned in the obit.

It may be another day or so until something pops up in the papers or online.

That's too bad, RIP crazyoildude. He was always very funny, I always was cracking up with him and his oil filter louver rants and the seals on oil jugs.

Hmm...

His soulmate is using his login , while its up to pm me. I don't know if she knows his password or she is just using it while she still can ( as long as he is not logged out) Thats why the times are as they are. His last post was 11am or so friday.

She asked for a link so she could follow this thread.( i have sent that link). Just be aware that she is reading the thread and it may bring her comfort.

Bryan

Maybe ask her if the linked Obituary is him. If not, it is a disservice to 'Crazyoildude', and the deceased gentleman in the linked Obituary.

RIP, fellow Bitoger.

I have asked, i am waiting for her reply, if she is able.

Several of the boards I am on have a special user group for members who have passed away... something to think about.

I do hope we will get a link to the correct obituary (or confirmation that we have the right one).

I hope he did not suffer...

Once again RIP CrazyOilDude.

No but he did mention that he had a good friend that was a locksmith in this thread.

Condolences and prayers to his family, enjoyed reading his comments about Pennz not having seals on their Qt jugs, always gave my $.02

Very sad to hear this!

Condolences to his family and many friends.

I would hope that his passing would make us all consider our own mortal nature and be a better man because of it.
