All things being equal though, with a Trac-loc, I guess a 2WD would do OK in the snow with some Ice&Snow tires and some weight in the bed.

I've got three of them in various vehicles. The one in my Expedition is quite tight; locks up the tires on any real acceleration on very tight turns.
