Hello all. Been lurking around here for a while, but thought it was time to register and ask a question.

See, my 'problem' is that I live in Norway.

Being a small, sparsely populated country, the mc dealers have little competition, and they sell their MC oils (Motul, etc) at extremely high premiums.

Statoil may be unknown in the US, but it is our partly state-owned oil company. Hence the name.
I suspect that their oil are somewhat average. They`re so big in Norway anyway, they probably don`t need to be best, they can sell their oils anyway.

The thing is that the company I work for has an agreement with Statoil, so I can buy their oils for a heavy rebate. Less than half what my Suzuki dealer wants for synthetic Motul.
I`m confident that the oil is more than good enough for my 2004 Suzuki SV1000S, but I`m interested in hearing the opinions of you 'oil connoisseurs' here, how it stacks up against other oils.
Been thinking about using a synthetic heavy diesel oil instead, but as it`s going to cost me about the same as this MC oil, I don`t see the point really.
Anyway, here is the spec sheet. (pdf)

there are a LOT of oils that are not jaso ma rated but yet can kick the #@$%! out of those that are.
one jaso ma i tested recently did not stay in grade after 2.8 hours in the MMoD!

Wasn't it Exxon Superflow 20w50 that did well for you? I sometimes wonder if I should just be running dino Rotella in place of the Amsoil MCF 10w40.

Hi, Trondos. A company in Drammen, sells Royal Purple. I also know of a company in Alta, selling Amsoil. Redline can be bought at Mekonomen, as you may know. Many companies have agreements with Mekonomen and often have 50-70% rebate.

Hello all, thanks for the replies!

Mekonomen??? Hmm, maybe I should pay them a visit, I usually go to Biltema instead of Mekonomen, but that sounds interesting.
