Gentlemen, Wednesday afternoon/evening I bought a new 2023 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab from our friends at Toyota of Grand Rapids in Grand Rapids, MI. After reaching an agreement the salesman started in on the ol' upsell nonsense. Something new this time. He wanted me to buy their electronic rust control module for $600. I cut him off and said no. On my way home I was trying to recall if any other dealership over the years (I'm 62) tried to sell me one of those things. I came up with no. What are your thought's on this type of rust control? I live in the rust belt here in Michigan. Researching it on the internet it seems to be ineffective. I welcome your thought's on this. TIA!

They tried the same thing when I bought my Ram, sounded too good to be true to me so I declined. My coworker said his dad had it on a Chevy Silverado and supposedly it worked but it would kill the battery if you let it sit for 3 or more days.

There are many class action suits against various companies.
My brother in law had one on his subaru.

Still rusted in the wheel wells
