It's going to be interesting to see what is going to happen to the price of gas over time with this whole Venezuelan deal. My guess is it's going to be coming down. The only question is how much?

And with the extra added refining capacity we are now in control of over there, that is another positive. None of this is going to make EV's look any more appealing.

Got it, this is totally because EVs and PHEVs are trash that “no one wants”.

This has nothing to do with Stellantis doing a quite stop sale starting around September 2025 for various safety related issues then telling current owners to stop charging their PHEVs in November 2025 and to park away from occupied structures. Yup. Nothing to do with all that. Consumers simply don’t want their typical large vehicles that are able to run on pennies per mile and cheaper to maintain.

Bigger question is how soon - I’d be in no hurry to invest …
This shadow tanker scheme ends somewhere as well …

Between this, Teslas that burn you alive, and parking lots full of iron that stay put once the federal subsidies are gone, I think we should agree that the emperor had new clothes.
As debated on other sites - mandates and/or the help/harm are the forbidden subjects … Left with real freedom - so many just don’t care what’s in your own garage or bedroom …

Now you've got Iran, with its economy in total shambles, and the totalitarian government over there on the verge of total collapse. They are soaked to their very core in oil. Trump has already told them if they keep hurting and killing civilians over there we're going to drop the hammer.

After what just happened to their nuclear facilities, you can bet they're taking him seriously. When that government goes the same way as Maduro's did, look for Iran's oil to come under the guard and control of the U.S.

By the end of his term this country will be controlling A LOT of oil and refining in both countries. And have bases all over Greenland to be sure. I would bet on gas going anywhere but up over the next few years. And that will end up being the coup de gras for the EV industry.... Not that it ever was much to begin with.

I agree, but our refining capacity is our problem, and Venezuela has no EPA, or at least not ours.

They used to have 1.5 MBPD refining capacity. Much of its offline. If it hasn't been pilfered for copper our experts can have it running in no time.

What specific problem … $2.39 for Exxon is fine with me …
I’m not getting into speculation over other countries …
Just had a lock over that …

Our problem is we don't have enough refining capacity for our own needs. We still ship in refined product. No one will build new ones here - process is too long and encumbered.

It wasn’t an EV it was a PHEV. It sold very well until they had to do a stop sale when the wiring harnesses started catching fire.
What percentage were leased in order to take the $7500 rebate?

Doubtful if it was still seen as a viable volume product they wouldn't just fix the problem like all OEM's have done forever.

Everyone is cancelling / scaling back on EV's for the US market. Not just Stellantis.

As more electric vehicles are put into service, the price of fossil fuels for our ICE vehicles will slowly go down over time. Right now gas here in KC is approaching $2 gal and our gas tax here has gone up 13¢ over last few years so this is telling me that gas really is getting cheaper. I paid $2.149 yesterday before a 29¢ discount from fuel perks at Hy-Vee

Apparently there may be rules on the horizon that would outlaw "Tesla doors".
