I drove by the Stellantis engine and transmission plants in Kokomo last Friday. Parking lots were empty, same deal at Tipton. They are involved in a huge new battery plant in Kokomo also, I'm curious to see how that shakes out.
In other words... We dont want to pay heavy tarrifs! We had better build a factory in the good ole USA!https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/22/stellantis-investments-jeep-ram-trump.html
I know Stellantis unhinges some here, but this is a positive for the USA.
The plans, as outlined in an internal message Wednesday to U.S. employees, included creating 1,500 jobs and reopening a plant in Illinois to build a new midsize pickup truck in 2027; building a new version of the Dodge Durango SUV that was being considered for Mexico at a Detroit plant instead; and adding more support for plants in Toledo, Ohio, and Kokomo, Indiana.
“John told the President that building on our proud, more than 100-year history in the U.S., we plan to continue that legacy by further strengthening our U.S. manufacturing footprint and providing stability for our great American workforce,” Antonio Filosa, head of Stellantis’ North American operations, said in the message.
Have you ever driven a new body style Ram?Wish them the best- saying that.....never met a chrysler product I liked.
I love my old Mopars, I lost any and all positivity for that company when Daimler got them. CDJR is dead to me.Wish them the best- saying that.....never met a chrysler product I liked.

We have some newer rams at work, although my silverado has had a transfer case done it has 220k km's, the rams are really not aging well.Have you ever driven a new body style Ram?
Sport, Laramie, Limited? If you haven't, try one and let us know if your opinion changes.
Admittedly not a Chrysler but the only thing that is, is a Grand Caravan at the moment.
Seems to me I'm old enough to remember a cycle that ended up like this and for whatever reason (fuel prices) the oems were caught out relying too much on one m0del type when consumers changed buying habits and had to rush through some car models.I've noticed that there is no mention of them making plans to build any cars. Last time I checked, dealers were overflowing with choices of Trucks and SUV's to buy, but very few cars, because they get bought up pretty quickly.
I take that as a no?We have some newer rams at work, although my silverado has had a transfer case done it has 220k km's, the rams are really not aging well.
That system has great potential, but they neutered it by tuning it for economy. It felt FANTASTIC in the 4xe while in “sport” mode. I just wish I could have enabled regen while in sport mode.Yet! (I'm hopeful). There was some rumour that there would be an SRT Grand Cherokee with the Hurricane I6 with the hybrid powertrain (torque converter on the ZF8HP) to give it that "electric boost".
I have never owned one either. But I have lusted for a B7 blue Charger (just about any year) since I was about 15 years old. Somehow it has not happened but I am still not giving up. Several Chevelles , Monte Carlos, trucks, boats and even a full size Bronco got in the way.Have you ever driven a new body style Ram?

I’m more a b5 kinda guyI have never owned one either. But I have lusted for a B7 blue Charger (just about any year) since I was about 15 years old. Somehow it has not happened but I am still not giving up. Several Chevelles , Monte Carlos, trucks, boats and even a full size Bronco got in the way.
All that is over with now so my chances get better day by day. Plan is once I get the wife's new vehicle bought and paid for a Charger ends up in the garage.
I think B5 and B7 are similar? One darker than the other.I’m more a b5 kinda guy
I just need a Challenger and then 15 year old me will have the truck and car I lusted over! I’m thinking sunburst orange/sinnamon stick though, love that metallic orange.
It's gotta be regional. Around here the trades are still booming and the gas patch is always gonna be the gas patch. People need trucks for truck things.Seems to me I'm old enough to remember a cycle that ended up like this and for whatever reason (fuel prices) the oems were caught out relying too much on one m0del type when consumers changed buying habits and had to rush through some car models.
FORD Maverick would likely be the truck I would purchase if I still had a need for one. A kind of more "human being" sized truck vs some of the monsters (Yeti or Paul Bunyan sized)It's gotta be regional. I think this is why you're seeing turbo 4's in full-size trucks (other than the obvious gubermint interference) -- trying to have your cake and eat it, too. Things like the Maverick may be able to fill a need for guys who lightly use a 1/2 ton -- great for parts runners, too. Enough to haul an engine or transmission and that might be all you need
