It's gotta be regional. Around here the trades are still booming and the gas patch is always gonna be the gas patch. People need trucks for truck things.
I think this is why you're seeing turbo 4's in full-size trucks (other than the obvious gubermint interference) -- trying to have your cake and eat it, too. Things like the Maverick may be able to fill a need for guys who lightly use a 1/2 ton -- great for parts runners, too. Enough to haul an engine or transmission and that might be all you need
