I don’t know of any mini reactors in commercial use yet and I don’t want one in my back yard.Closed loop systems similar to a cooling system on a car as well as mini nuclear reactors that produce an excess of power solves this.

I have operated in a $million/day - two year+ lead time world for decades. We ship material to/from dozens of places around the globe. Sea, air, rail, and trucks. Shortages occur for those who don’t plan - and be willing to pay a premium …I mean no disrespect, but you call a guy out on not knowing about electrical equipment lead times and then state there’s no shortage on transformers because solar and wind are none stop in your area.
Make it make sense please.
Long lead times and shortages can go hand in hand.I have operated in a $million/day - two year+ lead time world for decades. We ship material to/from dozens of places around the globe. Sea, air, rail, and trucks. Shortages occur for those who don’t plan - and be willing to pay a premium …
Read the whole thread. It has everything to do with planning …Long lead times and shortages can go hand in hand.
The electrical world lead time wise has been nuts for about 5 years. It has nothing to do with planning.
I agree, without a plan it's a pipe dream, like what's happening here in NY.Read the whole thread. It has everything to do with planning …
Have a nice day …
Lots of buzz these days about Supply Chain organizations - from what I see they are both internal consolidations plus bringing in new blood from those who sourced material globally - and know the right number of suppliers in each commodity … (they will build ahead of a PO) …I agree, without a plan it's a pipe dream, like what's happening here in NY.

And, a 4" natural gas line @ 100 psi, will power onsite generation for data centers using Caterpillar gensets. 100% uptime , no grid connection. And data centers are expected to use up to 100x more power than EVs once fully deployed.
Just crypto alone uses more power than EVs .
Why do we need data centers at thee rate they want to build them? AI? We don't need it anymore than we did a few years ago, I understand it can have some uses for medical and research but for the average person it is nothing more that spyware and we all need that like we need a # Phillips in the eye.We need data centers, we don’t need electric vehicles if the argument that EVs will strain the system significantly.
Electric vehicles are a form of transportation for which energy source already exists = gasoline
Here in the USA we are free to explore and invest in anything we want. Why do we need data centers at thee rate they want to build them? AI? We need strict control over its use and stop with the demented argument that we have to have it bigger and better to stay ahead of the Chinese boogeyman. JMHO
