Electric grid upgrade issues.

I mean no disrespect, but you call a guy out on not knowing about electrical equipment lead times and then state there’s no shortage on transformers because solar and wind are none stop in your area.

Make it make sense please.
I have operated in a $million/day - two year+ lead time world for decades. We ship material to/from dozens of places around the globe. Sea, air, rail, and trucks. Shortages occur for those who don’t plan - and be willing to pay a premium …

Long lead times and shortages can go hand in hand.

The electrical world lead time wise has been nuts for about 5 years. It has nothing to do with planning.
 
I agree, without a plan it's a pipe dream, like what's happening here in NY.
Lots of buzz these days about Supply Chain organizations - from what I see they are both internal consolidations plus bringing in new blood from those who sourced material globally - and know the right number of suppliers in each commodity … (they will build ahead of a PO) …
You can’t plan effectively without this unique skills and knowledge subset. Tough part for me is they are treated as equals - so I have to explain Animal Farm to them often 🤔

It's pretty much every large industry since covid.

Supply chan logistics and business rules were completely rewritten globally.
