Yes, 1 billion years life will be extinguished (and most likely much sooner) on earth from the suns radiation, in 5 billion years there will be no sun at all.
Earth isnt here forever and the suns energy isnt going to last forever, for 3 billion years now the climate on earth has been changing, droughts, ice ages, as the sun itself changes and cools down it expands it will one day will literally die, the earth itself become lifeless or melt away. Nothing will stop it, its always been a given.

They refuse to tap into their own significant natural gas reserves (anti - fracking hysteria) but are happy to use fracked natural gas imported from the USA. They display religious crusade levels of hostility towards nuclear power but are happy to import electricity from next door France which generates about 70% of it's electricity via nuclear power.

Yes, they were importing from Norway and the Netherlands, while exporting a tiny amount to France, Luxembourg and Poland. France was exporting to Italy, but importing from GB, Spain, a bit from Germany and Switzerland.

Well, plants on the ocean or big bodies of water will be fine. Those on the rivers are the ones currently having constraints, though it appears the ones left in Germany are humming along just fine at full capacity...
