Does the Diesel engine flush actually work?

No liquid solution will beat this. THEN run short OCIs with seafoam or the cleaner of your choice and enjoy the vehicle.

Not too long ago BITOG was all over some other product, maybe "kreen"?

I already have a new oil pan and Melling standard pressure oil pump + pickup tube to install because of a severely rusted oil pan after 20 years of road salt. I have good oil pressure, but might as well replace it when I pull the pan because it has obviously led a rough life and I plan on keeping this truck for a long time.

Are you flushing because of noisy valvetrain/internals or just a piece of mind thing? Honestly if it's quiet I'd just do shorter OCI intervals and be done with it.

This is good advice, Maybe some PYB or ST short OCIs would get it cleaned up eventually. How many short OCIs would you run a single X2 Fram Ultra before changing?

Trust me, this thing would be spotless inside if I owned it from new.

Sludged engines has to be top 5 most popular topics on this board. I love me a filter C&P when you know the engine was bypassing the filter for a LONG time!

Remove the valve covers and spray the valvetrain down with Berryman B-12 Chemtool and let soak. Fill the block with the same and acetone mix in if using 100% Berryman is too expensive. Let it sit overnight and drop the oil pan. Spray down the internals and you should be as clean as possible. Run two short OCIs after that and it will be done.
