Different wear on different parts???

Hi guys, this is just something that popped into my head and won't leave.

Bearings work continuously in one direction as do cams/tappets/rocker-arms but these don't continuously come in contact and piston rings/cylinder walls work in two opposite directions.

Does this mean that wear rates on these sections of the engine would be different? For e.g. would i be right if i assume that bearings would wear the least at high-rpms rather than low-rpms and likewise would piston rings/cylinder walls wear least at low-rpms (I havent the vaguest idea on tappets/cams). I'm assuming that load plays a part too.

Does anyone know because i've noticed that cars that are driven at mostly high rpms tend to have worn rings/cylinder walls while those at mostly at low rpms also tend to need to have their head reconditioned more often.
