Recently, in another thread, I chronicled a new purchase of a Glock 42 and a run in of the gun, and ammo issues.
In a quest for a load for that gun that functioned 100%, was accurate, and had a viable mount of power, I stumbled upon Defender Ammo at a local gun show. It is their 100Grn, 910 FPS 380 ACP that I have chosen for my carry load....in that gun.
Since, I have purchased more 380 ACP, but also have purchased APRX 500 rounds of 45 ACP and 9mm, both remanufactured and new. By in large, I am very impressed. I have found no difference in reliability, group size, grouping, consistency, etc comparing the reman and new lots of ammo. Further, the ammo itself, in comparison with other commercial loads, has been, superior.
I have not ran and HPs or their Lehigh defense rounds as of yet.....no rifle either.
Prices are excellent as well, and to me are a "local" company.....not a conglomerate, as far as I know. Located near Ft. Bragg in Raeford, NC.....my old stomping grounds.
They are worth consideration for your next ammo purchase.

Generally speaking, a gun that you carry should be:
1.) Reliable
2.) You can shoot well
3.) In a caliber adequate for the application
Beyond those two factors, not much else matters...... preference, not requirements.
I had a terrible experience with my Sig 238. Several issues with the gun and magazines led me to get rid of the gun about 2/2.5 years ago. Originally, I had bought it for my wife, but I quickly removed it from her a replaced it with something a bit more user friendly, and reliable. A Robin Egg Blue, Glock 42. The odd color for increased visibility whilst in a purse...
