Some people think 10w30 is obsolete because it is rarely specified for newer vehicles, so I think it was a legitimate question from that perspective. Yes, some viscosity charts show 10w30 as an option for a particular model but the *recommended* viscosity is typically 0w20 or 5w30. In my opinion, 10w30 is not obsolete simply because many people still use it including myself. Producers usually discontinue products that aren't selling... 10w30 has been around a long time and probably isn't going anywhere for a while longer.
