LOL....Hurry up, you can try and fit the same comment three times on one page.

FWIW....

Ford Corporate Average = 125.33
Honda CorporateAverage = 137.5

Sounds right to me.

Forget it dude, it's simple arithmetic, tough stuff......I'll try and explain anyway.

See Ford builds Lincolns and Mercurys as well. As does Honda with the Acura, the numbers you see above are the averages of the Corporations lineup.

I'm not bashing Honda at all, just showing that no body between the two is "well ahead" of the other as you contend. If anything the numbers show Ford slightly ahead for frequency of ownership issues....take it FWIW.

LOL....You made it to 4! Fantastic, the exact same comment four times on one page. How do you do it, the insight, the wit, the cutting edge information we get from you. This board should pay you for your efforts....outstanding man!

Well you seem to think that the chart is not there....and it does not say what I have said....Do you see the chart to the right or not???????

Oh, that chart.....Darn I wish I has seen those numbers before I did my averages of THOSE SAME numbers. Where do you think I got the averages from?

Forget it, I promise the board I'm done with him.....sorry for the excursion.

For those who do understand the numbers, I'm well aware the simple averages dont weight for numbers of models sold within each line. But that would bury someone who cant follow simple averaging wouldnt it. I did think to explain that the delta between Ford and Honda alone of 9 is in itself almost statistically insignificant. But that would never work, for obvious reasons. Honestly, I would label them(Honda/Ford alone) as about equal in analyzing that set of numbers in relation to ALL manufacturers.

I think they are out in left field in close to half of the categories. Par for the course for CR...

I think most people here are done with him. He really should apologize to everyone here the way he has been acting the past several months by posting nothing but nonsense and being rude and arrogant.

All these publications are nice to read. But their rankings are worthless to me. CR doesn't even publish their criterias and objetives. They are not transparent in most cases.
AFA CR being "spot on".. how do I know that for sure? On what basis?? If it is spot on what is your basis to say that? Not saying that CR didn't get it right this time but "how so?".
CR has been a goofball in maney area in the past other than soap and detegent imo.

I'll give this example.A black dot symbolizes that fewer than 50% 'would do so'( whatever that means)anyway ,even in the 'two seat sports car' catagory a Mazda Miata beat out a Porsche boxter AND the Nissan 370 Touring. Come on ,Price aside, how can they recommend the Miata and not the Boxter?or the 370z

Glad to see the Mazda5 on there. Most underrated car in this country. Such cool little people haulers.

I see only a few differences in the CR and JDP ratings. Many are the same(Honda Fit, Mazda5). The Fit, is the most reliable car in class and the Mazda5 is a Top Pick according to CR. Both being in the highest rating according to JDP in their respective catigories.

CR states that the Cadillac CTS/STS/DTS have below average reliability and JDP stated that the Caddy DTS at the top. CR has data on 6 years of history and JDP show only 3 years. Each survey has a slightly different criteria but both show similar trends in the auto industry. Trends is what we're looking for isn't it? Other survey companies show similar trends in the industry though not exactely the same results.

I've subscribed to CR Mag on and off over the last 30 something years and have been following JDP since their inception in the late 80's. Both have great information for the public to soak up like a sponge, neither being exactly the same but both show similar trends in the market. There are other sources of information as well with surveys of their own and they too show trends in the market.

We as the public, ask our own circle of family/friends about the products that they purchace, to use as a guideline for some(not all) of our own purchaces. That is a survey! Yours will be slightly different than mine but, there may be some similarities.

None of these surveys(CR, JDP or our own) are gospil, they are only a guideline for us to make educated decisions.

Interesting comment from the Det. Free Press about the new ford Focus....

I could never understand Ford’s reasoning for making and selling better vehicles in Europe and not the U.S.A. It’s like they treat us like chumps.

You have been tricked by the Ford marketing department. Truth is the new Focus is built on the same platform as the 2003 or 2004 Mazda platform. You heard that one right. The new Focus is a sheet metal job of the Mazda 3. Mazda 3 has been sold here for approx 7 years.

Plus, the Focus ( or should I call it Mazda 3 ) has a moster price tag so the UAW boys get to retire at 48.

Do yourself a favor. Get the new Consumer Reports magazine at your local bookstore. Flip to page 22. Read the long term reliability study. Honda and Toyota win. They win big. Ford, Mazda, and all other brands are junk after 7. Then, get the Honda Civic SI. That is the best machine in this segment.
