Coffee - what are you using and why?

I just had a cup of my favorite coffee: Starbucks Caffe Verona Bold. I can now buy a 2 lb bag of whole beans at Costco for the same price as a 1 lb bag at Starbucks.

Had some community new orleans blend the other day and was very impressed. I haven't been fond of chicory infused coffee in the past, but this stuff is smooth and mellow like you wouldn't believe.

lately i have been a big fan of the Via (sp) from starbucks in the italian bold blend.. great coffee for "instant"..
My current favorite is Don Pablo "Signature Blend" whole bean from Costco, really good.
Almost finished with my stash of gift coffees received last Christmas. The pound of Dunkin Donuts beans from my daughter is gone now, and there is about one or two grinder loads of the Bucamaranga beans from my sisters, both were quite enjoyable.
Costco's house brand, Kirkland, has 3-pound bags of whole beans from different regions around the world, Columbian, Guatemalan, Sumatran, Kona, etc. I was going to work my way through trying these out, but I'm a little gun shy after the bag of Guatemalan beans I tried had a distinctly burnt flavor to them. I see where some other folks here have had good experiences with these, so maybe I was just unlucky enough to happen upon a bad batch. I'd really like it if they'd put together some sort of sampler pack that had a quarter pound or so of each of them. Three pounds is an awful lot of something you haven't tried before.

If you don't satisfy with the flavor you can return to Costco if the remaining is more than 90%.
Hard-core roast & grind your own purists need read no further- just pre-ground canned store coffee here.
I have a new one to me- house brand(Brookshire's chain, Food Club brand) 100% Columbian. It was on sale for $2.50/can- real steel cans too, a big plus IMO. I got a can & tried it out, & went back on the last sale day & bought 5 more cans. Taste is *Very* close to Yuban, with a slightly salty overtone. I may try switching from store-bought jugged spring water to distilled water as an experiment.
So don't be afraid to try out your store's house brand coffee, especially if it says 100% Columbian on the can or bag.

Interesting thread. My favorite coffee is the French roast from Peerless in Oakland. I get big foodservice bags of it so it's not very expensive. It has a wonderful, smooth, rich flavor--and it's not burnt like so many West Coast dark roasts are.
I'm surprised at how many single cup coffeemaker users there are. That wouldn't work in my household. For one-cup servings, I use an Aeropress:

I honestly would've bought the entire cart...

Not sure if this has been posted, but expect coffee prices to start going up; it is becoming prevalent in non Western countries and also speculators have jumped into the market.....

Funny. My brother brought a pound to my parent's house and I was blown away by the quality.
