Coffee - what are you using and why?

I don't buy-in the Organic Hype. If Organic products cost about 15-20% more then I may try it, but most Organic products cost in order of 100% to 200% or more than non-organic.

Eat/drink Organic products will not make you live forever.

No, I haven't tried any of the other roasts, although I'll probably try the 100% Columbian next.

I get the 13 ounce vacuum packed bags for less than $3 each. That way, after several pots, if I can't get a taste that I like, I can toss the rest of it and not feel guilty.

Well I just got done drinking a cup of microwave reheated Folgers, black, that was made about 11 or so hours ago. Easier than re-brewing another pot - and faster too.

Yuck!

But I've done it in the past... sometimes it's just better than no coffee at all.

I'm not sure how there is any "hype" associated with consuming products that don't contain dangerous pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, growth hormones, and anti-biotics, but go right ahead and continue to eat conventional if penny pinching floats your boat.

I don't choose to eat organic because I intend to live forever. I do it in order to live well and not contract the numerous forms of sickness and cancer that have been on the rise for the last fifty years.

I don't even bother with the microwave... I'll just drink it at room temperature.

I was at a family reunion last weekend, and we got to talking about coffee at our table. My aunt chimed in that she was "really particular" about her brand of coffee, and that she'd ONLY drink Folgers or Maxwell House...

We all got a good laugh out of that one, and she still didn't get it.

Right now, I'm drinking Great Value Columbian Coffee...I'm no coffee connoisseur I just drink what's cheap

At work, it's some no-name foil wrapped coffee grounds, per 10 cup carafe.

Though, the ALDI "coffee beans" that you have to grind yourself, are good too....I think the primary enjoyment is getting that aroma as you open the zip locked bag, first thing in the morning.

Drinking a 50/50 mix of home roasted beans both from
invalsa.com

COSTA RICA MIGUEL GARBAZO -LA VIOLETA AGRIVID GREEN COFFEE BEANS (this is discontinued was ok but not great)

The bolivian is Excellent.

the costa rica is fairly flat.

by mixing I can use my last 8lbs of costa rican with acceptable flavor... not quite as good as 100% bolivian.

roasted in my behmor 1600

those are both terrible but some people just don't know any better.
I've drank lots of different brands and a few coffee shop cups and I usually am disappointed. I always come back to Community Coffee. it's from Baton Rouge, as common as dirt in Louisiana but not sold of here so we order it direct.
if I'm out of Community, we usually drink Eight O'Clock Coffee.
always beans, grind right before brewing.

8'oclock is the best value whole bean coffee
up here Giant Eagle puts it on BOGO (buy one get one free)

its about 13$ for 2 40oz bags..
I used to stock up on 12 at a time.. before I started roasting my own.

Half the starbucks coffee tastes burnt..

Peets is decent but overpriced

I found origional dunkin donuts coffee to be a bit sweet and light.

Seattles best about the same as starbucks.. less burnt tasting varieties though.

edit: just checked its upto 14.29 now.. but they run it at 8.99 or cheaper at least once a month.
