I’ve wanted a green dial watch for several years. I’ve had my eye on the Seiko Prospex Alpinist mechanical watch for a couple of years but not willing to pay $500 plus for one. I mentioned the Citizen solar dive watch ( Japanese movement ) to Santa this year but Christmas came and went with no watch under the tree. :( Having said that, a package arrived 1/3/2025 which contained a Citizen green dial Solar dive watch! :) It came in the coolest packaging ever…in a small simulation of a scuba divers air tank! I was concerned it might be a fake copy ( Amazon ) so I registered the the watch with Citizen and the serial number was accepted so I got an extra year of warranty for a total of 6 years. After charging for 24 hours I set it by the World Atomic Clock and it’s been within one second for a couple of days. A single charge can last up to six months even if stored away from a light source. I’ve been a watch fan since I was a kid when my first $5 watch turned my left wrist green. I’ve always bought economy ( cheap ) watches and my 5 year old $50 Timex Expedition solar watch still keeps great time.

Sweet. I have a thin wrist. I got this for 25 years of service with my company. Tiffany's Portfolio. Accurate to a couple seconds/month

Very cool. Sometimes the packaging the item comes in sets it off. I guess thats why some expensive alcohol gets bottled in fancy bottles.

I have not been able to kill my Eco-Drive despite heavy use. It's from around 3009*. I surfed and went skin diving with it for years. I had the gaskets replaced three or four times over the years. It still holds a charge. I have retired this watch but use it occasionally as a beater.

You can clearly see the solar cells. Use sunscreen, folks - or your arms will look like mine! :p

*Thanks for the laugh. y_p_w

My Eco I bought ??? years ago. I got the matching metal band and am on my second rubber one. Recently, I found it had the wrong time and was moving erratically so I put it out in the sun to charge it up and all is good again. I knocked the 12 o'clock glow-in-the-dark "nugget" off at work. *I just saw the date and corrected it.
