I said this in May in rebuttal to a statement that the EPA and their CAFE regulations on the auto and energy couldn't be rolled back.

"It absolutly can and is likely to happen soon. This case will be overturned by the SCOTUS this term and is going to put a choker chain on the EPA and the rest of the alphabet soup agencies. Americans (especially car-noids like us) are going to win biggly."

Well it just happened. We'll all have to wait and see how short of a leash this will put on the alphabet agencies to regulate the oil/gas and car industries. Perhaps the manufacturers will again offer their products with manual transmissions.

This is a profound change.

I am not a scientist, statistician, or anything else of any "prestigious" nature, not an important person.

But, I do know a few things, one of which, some younger folks dont seem to understand:

You can get something from nothing. The amount of energy require to perform work never changes, and it would seem to me that we spend a bunch of energy on trying to figure out how to use less energy, and less emissions.

The carbon footprint of a 2025 Honda Civic, is no more than the footprint made by a 1986 Civic, it just depends on where in the train tracks you look, and I'll bet the footprint made today, is much greater when all factors are entered.

This is an interesting development, but I wonder what practical effect it will have on the automotive industry.

It appears that lower courts no longer have to defer to government agencies on issues that aren't clear in law.

Ending Chevron deference will force Congress to craft more specific and less ambiguous laws, or at least to involve subject matter experts in the process beforehand rather than after the fact. That’s for the best.

This isn’t the huge step towards anarchy the left thinks it it, nor the end of the administrative state that the right hopes.
