My interval has been 3,000 miles thus far. I realize that is quite often. But it is a saturn so I don't extend drains on it. However I'll probably go to 5,000 this time. I did one run of max life semi syn and one run of max life synthetic.
Imo the claims of penny oil cleaning so well is kinda funny looks like valvoline does a great job to. Very pleased with the results. Btw the car before I got it ran 5000 intervals with penna oil and then pennz high mileage.

Maxlife is Valvolines highest detergent oil. Glad it's working for you, cleaning with oil alone is a slow proposition at best.

The turbo in the Clio started to make an odd noise when lifting off. A kind of shreik but also a little bit like a BOV.

After a run of 10w40 Maxlife Diesel (synth blend from memory) it went away.

The only other thing i did was run some Redex through the tank.

Hasn't made the noise since.

Not sure if the variable vanes where sticking or even if it was the oil or the Redex.

When the weather got colder it struggled to start when cold on the 10w40.

The same Maxlife also helped with oil consumption on my Taxi. Though strangely that engine used even less on Mobil 1 0w40?

But i digress.

A good solid oil but expensive in the UK

Don't think they do a product for the Jag but might look into a Maxlife product for the Pathfinder as it is due a change soon.

Nice picture - I noticed MaxLife is cleaning some varnish off my old Pontiac beater as well. Seems to be a quality product, especially with the $5 off coupons here lately at Walmart.
