Change oil now?

Blank statements that ALL DI engines are bad on oil is nonsence. This is the same mentality of those who lamblast Fram Orange cans even though hundreds of thousnds have used them for decades without any issues.First you look at wear values and if those are questionable THEN you look for the reasons. Ed

Hello guys,

OK I think I'm gonna have the oil changed over to synthetic despite it's now 6K even though it's close to one year now. The manual tells me to change it out no matter how many miles I have on the motor.

When this is done I'm gonna go for the Mobil 1 just like my 09' Impala SS as a standard. All I ask is do you all believe this synthetic can do 9K so I can get it to the 15K service??? If not I can go with "extended" to make sure there should be no issue.

Run a Dexos 1 oil and follow the OLM. Its that simple sir.
