You could try two OCI's with your favorite 20 grade oil, then two OCI's with your favorite 30 grade oil. Do a UOA after the second run of each grade, post the results, then sit back and enjoy the debate.

I would switch to a Syn 5w30 myself since you live in a warmer area. Can still easily find oil in 5w30 that meets Dexos spec.
I'd also go to 8k oil change intervals as well. Highway driving, warmer climate, and large sump means 8k should be a cake walk.
