Hi all,

Some GTX 5w20 one sale, Im about to dump the 10w30 GTX for my engine soon.
I had Quaker State GB before and really liked it. How would you rate Castrol to Pennzoil, Quaker, Shell, Canadian Tire home brand Formula 1??? Performance wise and protection. Lets forget the price one this one...

yeah I'm trying to lol, there's a lot of fanfare about sopus on this forum, wanted to know if gtx is still in the race...

Yeah there is a lot of fanfare in this Forum. Sopus has the best selling PCMO's in North America. But that does not mean other name brands or inferior. Pick on that is on sale that meets your needs and forget about it.

I'd run GTX for sure if the price were right (it never seems to be)

Did you like Quaker GB better than GTX?

The only issue other than price vs add pack, is the GTX cold cranking #. GTX vs All other oils that is. Seems the add pack makes it line up 100% to Valvoline white bottle or Next Gen. almost free deal on NG these days. Up to you but free is cool IMHO.

Is valvoline a tiny bit better than gtx?

Better in what way? I think they are both fine motor oil`s.

I saw a display of Castrol GTX at Wal-Mart that was $15.97 for a 5 gallon jug and you get a bonus Hot Wheels car with it. That's enough to sway me.

Like I posted before in response to the MaxLife question, you really don't need anything special. I wish I had taken a picture under the valve cover of my old Accent after 100k miles almost exclusively on Super Tech 5w30. It was very clean. Some say buy what's on sale and some say pick something and stick with it. I say that since your car takes less than 4 qts of oil, I would look to Quaker State conventional because it is almost always on sale in individual bottles. That is most likely what I am going to run in my vehicles on my next oil change.

No. The have an identical add pack. The only difference would be the base oil compositions, which, no one knows.
