We get these deluge thunderstorms like every day. Hopefully something like that is happening up north at least as a start.

A new question regarding the smoke.
Are there any practical 'parameters' on smoke clogging air filters?
I'm thinking smoke's particulate density drops with distance from its source (obviously) so an engine air filter in Miami will clog more slowly than one in Montreal.
Since air swirls around, smoke density will vary daily or even hourly. Tallying up these particulates would require continuous sampling.
I realize this smoke is a far cry from volcanic ash and I fully accept the economy of simply replacing any filter earlier to be on the safe side.

Southern Ontario has had the highest rates of asthma in the country for the past 30 years. We still owe our southern neighbour a few more "smokes" . Lol

Interesting. On my Taurus, the cabin filter is only for incoming air and is not functional in the recirculate mode.
Even though the air quality is excellent today, I repeated the test with recirculate off and the filter still does an excellent job
Will have to repeat the testing on a smoggy day.

I heard things have cleared up a bit on the east side.
. This was stated a few days ago .
It’s back.. this is what it’s like in Southern New Hampshire right now. It’s dark and not advisable to be outside. It’s 84° and smells terrible! This is the third year this has happened and it’s the worst yet. Zoom in to find the sun. It’s actually there.

Yeah, it's been really odd. My allergies were at 11 this morning. For once I might "enjoy" being at work, they must have some really great air filtration in the building!
Late last night driving in Wisconsin I could see a layer of smoke descending, I went up a hill and it smelled of wood /campfire smoke.
Minnesota is stinking things up
