Much of Canada is covered with pine trees. Canada is huge and mostly remote. They even have lightning, I think they got it a couple years ago about the same time they got indoor plumbing. When a fire starts in a remote area, it is almost impossible to put out.

Some pines, mostly firs, cedars, spruce and hemlocks.

What amazes me about Canada fires is how EARLY they start in the season. Still wet and not many fires down here and Canada is a raging smoking inferno.
