Is it ok to leave Auto Rx in for a few months while the car is in storage or is it better to finish the cleaning phase & change the oil for the rinse stage prior to storage?

Currently have AutoRx in two cars. One car has pennzoil synthetic & the other Red Line oil. The Pennzoil car has dark oil as a result of the Auto Rx; this car had the cleaner of the two engines to begin with. The Redline oil remains golden despite having AutoRx in for 600 miles; this car has three times the miles of the other & had assumed it to be the dirtier engine.

If the Auto Rx is cleaning, why is the Redline so clear? Thank-you.

You can leave the ARX in the stored unit, however why would you want to? If the oil is fairly dark, it likely is somewhat degraded. If you are close to the 1500 miles of operation, with the ARX installed, I would dump it, refill fresh and do the rinse cycle when the unit comes out of storage.

In the case of the higher mileage unit running red line, either of two things may be occurring. One the motor was fairly clean to start with. Or more likely, most of the cleaning is deposited in the filter. It is not uncommon with synthetic oils to see the large majority of contaminants visually occur in the rinse phase. Do you plan on running a 2000 mile dino rinse phase on this unit?

I don't really want to store a car w/ AutoRx in it. However, there is a third car that will be getting an AutoRx cleaning. Asked because I'm debating whether or not to wait until spring as the third car doesn't generally see even 1,000 miles in a season & is not likely to see more than a couple hundred more yet this year. Think I'll wait 'til spring in that one.

Yes, I plan to rinse with conventional oil. Recently bought some just for this purpose. Glad to hear that there is a logical reason for the clear Red-line. Thanks for the response.

My cleaning phase took 4 & 1/2 months to rake up 1500miles. I used fresh conventional oil at the start of my cleaning phase though. It was common to see my car sit for 2 weeks without being started.
