How I Turned my Rough Turbocharged GDI 1.5L Engine Smooth

My car is a by-design rough running Morris Garages Grand Touring. I recently switched my oil from Pennzoil Ultra Platinum to Liqui Moly MolyGen, both 0W-20, and honestly, the difference surprised me, but don’t get me wrong, pennzoil is a great oil. The engine feels noticeably smoother, and the RPM climbs much more freely now. When I press the gas, it feels like everything just glides instead of straining. That matches up with tests I’ve seen, like Lake Speed Jr.’s, where MolyGen showed some of the lowest parasitic friction. Less friction means less wasted energy, and more of the power actually making it to the wheels

My car is rated for “RON 95 or higher”, and when RON 98 was recently introduced where I live in the gulf, I decided to try it. The difference was immediately noticeable. The engine runs much quieter, especially at higher speeds (around 90 mph and above), during hard acceleration, and on hill climbs. The whole car just feels smoother, calmer, and more responsive when you push it

I gave a ride to a new colleague at work, and he genuinely thought the car was electric, he had no prior knowledge of it. That’s how quiet and refined the GDI Turbo feels now

I ran two oil changes with Valvoline Restore and Protect before switching to Pennzoil fpr one oil change then switched LiquiMoly. My car has 106k miles Odometer and the actual gas mileage at the current setup is at 41 MPG combined city and highway. The engine is a 1.5T & 173 HP & 250 NM of torque.

Honestly I think the MPG is impressive at this mileage, I know Octane number is not the cause, probably the combination of engine cleanness (valvoline R& P) and usage of this this low friction engine oil is the reason.
