where else are you going to argue trivial motor oil related details on the internet but here?

You should be more angry that we discussed this a few weeks back.
 
Dont even give it second thought.
Back in the day of full service stations i think most cars that had their oil checked by the attendant were running a quart over.
Short sticking was almost the norm.
 
I always overfill my Accord 1-1.5 quarts, since it burns so much oil. I wouldn't think twice about putting all 5 in your Scion. Always round up!
 
My Aerostar calls for 4.5 qts of oil. For years I added 5 qts of oil. I would not worry about being 2/10 of a qt over.
 
My Mazda required 3.8 quarts. I use a bigger filter which really doesn't make up the entire difference, but I have always thrown the .2qts in there.

I think a 6.4 oz (4%) overfill is well within reason. If it bothers you see if you can find an oversize filter that fits and meets specs.

Only in the States. Up here, they have various sizes. Walmart normally has five litre jugs of everything (except Mobil products, which are always 4.4 litres everywhere). Walmart up here usually has rollbacks on oddball sizes (i.e. 4.73 litres for SOPUS stuff, 4.4 and 4.5 for Castrol, 4 and 5 for VWB). Even the 4.73 litre jugs aren't a Walmart exclusive; Canadian Tire gets them on occasion. The jugs don't tend to be marked specifically for Walmart up here, either.
 
I always try go by the dipstick measurement. In my cars, I keep adding oil until the "do not add" market is reached. Usually it takes a little bit more than the manufacturer recommended capacity.

Well, if you had a 4oz. cup you might think differently.
 
I always fill a quart below spec, run it to fill the filter and whatnot, and then check it with the dipstick and top up to dead on the full line.
 
I knew a guy that did this once with the exact same car. He put 5 quarts in and the very next day his muffler went. Split right at the seam. I'd be careful if it was my car.

ha, i would've thought, save the .2quarts, so when you take 5 oil analysis samples throughout your OCI, you can top off with the exact same batch of oil.

Well I dont know. But some how I really dont think that was related to the .2 of extra oil.
