I know many people won't step foot in a WM. I get it. However, in terms of price, they can't be beat.

PU and Mobil 1 EP are about $28.79 per 5qt jug.

That comes to about $5.76 qt.

Hard to compete with that. Most auto parts stores charge $7-$8qt for both products.

And now that they carry good filters at good prices (Purolator Classics @ $3.27 each), I have no need to buy oil from anywhere else. The only exception is a deal somewhere like a MIR. But even then, I usually don't mess with those.

Walmart is the only place I`ll buy oil. Here at WM,M1 is $4.99 a quart,at an autoparts chain it`s $9. Fram TG`s are $5 at WM,at the same autoparts chain,$7.

If I can not find a sale, I will buy the oil at WM along with a motorcraft filter. I can if I go that route, I can do a 7qt oil change with filter for around than 22-24 dollars with a premium brand name conventional. I could do it closer to 20 dollars if I wanted to use supertech oil or Mobil clean. But sorry buster I just prefer not to use XOM products, no reason I just do prefer not to use them.

Hmm.. it's about $6.50 a quart at WM up here. Still cheaper than other stores...

I ordered from Amazon the Mag1 synthetic, in 5w-40 flavor for my M-B. It is about $6 cheaper (6-pack)than quart sized M1 in Walmart. If you get more traditional grades it is $5 a quart. Figured I would give it a try, free ship not tax (yet).

+1

I have a friend that works at a quick lube place and he says if they didn't buy it in bulk or from a royal purple rep, they sent someone to walmart. Says its kinda funny checking out with a shopping cart or two full of oil.

Walmart is the only place I buy oil. Mine now carries Bosch filters and that's the icing on the cake.

Plus every time I go to Wally there is free entertainment in the form of people I can laugh and point at.

I'm one of those people who really doesn't like going into Walmart. I can find typically find better deals with the various oil change specials at AZ and O'Reillys or elsewhere online. O'Reillys has Motorcraft filters for $3.99 as well.

Plus one for walmart.

Oil is cheaper than autozone even if they are on sale.

When you calculate the cost of the filter and oil at those places when they have their specials, the cost is usually a dollar or two more than what it would cost to get the filter/oil at walmart.

Plus, it's the only place I can buy groceries and car stuff.

I buy oil and selected stuff from WalMarts but, I really don't like the integrity of the owners and some of their business practices. Old man Sam who started WalMarts had integrity and a buy American attitude. JMO. Ed

Motorcraft's are 3.27 at my local WM.

I'm suprise'd to hear that Motorcraft filters are still being sold at WalMart. My understanding is (and confirmed at my 2 WM's) that Motorcraft has been replaced by Purolator Classics (a sort of clone o the MC and made by the same company).
