Wow.

And your point is what exactly? The word "wow" is supposed to be mean that you are shocked? If you read my posts in this thread I never stated that I didn't want to be around low income people. It was that I don't enjoy, nor do I feel comfortable....being around dirty, rude, loud, and otherwise low class individuals. Walmart seems to attract those types....whether you want to acknowledge that or not. I've known many lower income folks that were decent, well mannered, and weren't dirty or sloppy in appearance. Unfortunately whenever I end up at my local Walmart....or almost any Walmart in my area, the low class (socially...not in terms of income level) make my shopping experience LESS than desirable. Matter of fact I'm certain that many nasty looking folks there have good jobs and substantial paychecks....still no reason to look like you smell bad or appear like you just woke up from a bad drunk.
Besides....I don't need to explain myself. It's my life and I'll live it how I choose. Your seemingly smug and self-righteous comment needed to be addressed however.

Hey buddy, did I direct anything towards you? NO. I didn't ask for an explanation from you.

Well, time for this thread to go....

It's hard to bring up wal mart without the stigmas behind it....

I do buy oil at Walmart once in a while..

Lol...have a cold one and relax man. Geez.

Not just yet. I bought oil at WalMart today. They had PU in 5qt jugs. I thought it was only available by the quart. I bought 2 at $27.57 +tax each.

Walmart is great! We always enjoy shopping there when we visit the US.

I don't care if the guy standing next to me in the automotive section is on welfare or not. I enjoy saving money and everyone on this board should enjoy saving money too!

I find the auto part store 5 qt + filter deals better than Walmart, when I'm shopping for other oil change supplies for other peoples' cars.

For my Prius I usually just take it to the dealer, but the last 0w20 I bought was also from the dealer since it was only $4.99/qt on special.

It seems to be the opposite on the East Coast. Wally's everyday price is usually at least a couple of dollars less than the specials at the parts stores. Also, the parts stores here never have Motorcraft oil or filters on special.

You're forgetting that the OC special includes an oil filter.

Comparing M1 EP prices, my Wally's carry's it for $28.xx. An OC deal for M1 EP and an M1 oil filter is $34 +/- so it comes out to be a decent deal and cheaper then buying the oil from walmart and then paying $12.99 for the oil filter at an auto parts store.

Some would argue that Wal-Mart is actually one of the biggest contributors of the rise of the Chinese industrial dragon in the U.S. There was a pretty good PBS Frontline program a few years back on the spawn of Sam Walton, and how they chiseled the profit out of their vendors to the point they actually gave them tips on going offshore...

I buy all my oil at Walmart. Where else can you buy oil, socks, toothpaste, and a frozen pizza all in one store. One stop shopping at it's best! Also going out the garden center is pretty quick too.

See this is where the typical consumer is just totally blind to the larger picture, if not for the betterment of general society, but at least of their own family members.

Every time you buy a Chinese made product you REMOVE valuable employment and actually money from the hands of your family members, your friends, your neighbors, ect...while it might not affect you directly now, it WILL most certainly affect your children, for example in the future, and NOT in a good way either.

Just because you saved a few dollars at Wal Mart does NOT make it a good thing.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO LOOK AT THE BIGGER ECONOMIC PICTURE.

No, I'm not.

Perhaps I should have been more specific and said that for MANY of the oil deals, Wally is still cheaper. Once a year AZ puts MC 5W-20 on sale with an MC filter, and the sale price is still 1-2 dollars more than Wally's everyday price for a jug and a filter. Same thing with many of the PYB deals: AZ offers it with an OCOD, and I can get a jug at Wally's with a (better) Purolator Classic for less money every day.

M1 ep is 26.xx here. And the only M1 filter I ever bought was made is China so I won't buy another one. I buy a lot of things at walmart, but I do check the labels and try to avoid anything made in China. I tried to find some black low cut socks made in USA but the only thing I found was China and Honduras.

That's just it... Sometimes there just isn't a choice to buy American....

I'm really glad for those that are too special for Wal-Mart and don't lower yourselves to visit one. More parking spaces for me.

The oil selections in W-M are extensive. The prices are extremely competive. And if you want it or need it, you can almost bet your own money that it'll be there when you get there. For convenience and selection, W-M is hard to beat.

Granted, many W-M shoppers are not always the type of people you would wish to live next door to, but that's more an indication of the people who live around you. Want a better W-M experience, go to a better W-M area store. Or move to a better area.

I've always joked that if W-M doesn't have it I must not have needed it. In fact, though, their products work for me 90% of the time. If I need something of a better quality or US-made, I know to shop elsewhere or visit the web. W-M services price point service for the millions of Americans who need it. Yay W-M.

Exactly. You know we supply China with a lot of goods too? Similar to the car trade around the globe.

If it wasn't for Walmart, I wouldn't have a job at all. I work at a factory that makes Great Value food items and I'm pretty sure I live in America. Hey, American made!
