I have a BMK-13 with my Input and Output connections entering the mount on the left side as per the arrows.

Opposite of the Input arrow I have the BK-13 petcock installed for oil sampling access.

I would like to add a mechanical ( wet ) oil pressure gauge to my vehicle.

Would I receive accurate oil pressure readings if I used the unused access point ( opposite the Output arrow ) or if I simply put a "T" inline before the petcock.

Also, would the mount be an acceptable place to possibly mount an oil temp sensor.

I'm considering an oil drain plug setup for the temp sensor.

This is for an '06 Tundra.

Thanks Guys.

You will get slightly different readings depending on where you put your tap for the gauge.

If I'm interpreting your post correctly, you're considering tapping into the output rail for your mechanical gauge. This will give you the typical post filter reading that most senders do. That is, most senders are post filter. Some are not.

If you want to get advanced, put one on both rails and read the differential. You'll then read pump pressure and engine pressure.

Yes, this would be a decent place to tap the oil temp too. I would not put it on the "dead end" of the mount. You want it on the inbound or outbound line end. Flow will not refresh the heat losses in the mount. You'll get a "fuzzy" reading. The pan would be good too.

I'll assume that the oil sampling kit is 1/8 NPT for the actual tap. If you get a tee like this

I'm pretty sure you can just thread your line to your gauge on one of the male threads.

An inexpensive option would be to go to your local Home Improvement center and pick up a brass 8AN tee. They're sold in the plumbing section, and are used for putting a tee in a gas line.

They fit the inlet or outlet of the BMK-13 unit. I suggest putting it on the outlet. That's how I have mine set up to receive oil from my prelube pump coming from the oilpan drain. Since Amsoil uses 8AN fittings for the plumbing on the BMK-13, you can attach the Amsoil fittings right to it.

I installed a mechanical SunPro oil pressure gauge using 1/8" nylon tubing.

I installed a "T" in front of the sampling petcock on the BMK-13 mount.

Just hope I don't have any problems with the nylon tubing leaking or breaking.

Nylon is pretty heat resistant material. I has a working (molten) temp somewhere around 550F to form it. You can use everything from copper to stainless braided ..or even go to hose barbs and use trans cooler line if you want to. That is, you can buffer your anxieties about the plastic tubing
