Blue Pureone Filters found

I found some of the older blue Pureone filters at a local store, back in a corner. I even found one that would fit my vehicle.

These were made, I understand, before Purolator changed the design to the gold "rough" paint texture.

Are the blue ones good? Would you use one?
Are they collectors items worth millions, to be tucked away in a bank vault?

Any thoughts?

It really wasn't that long ago, they might only be 3 or 4 years old.

I have one on my Outback right now. Picked up 5 at an Advance Auto a while ago for about $3.50 each, 3 were blue and 2 were yellow. My size must be a slow mover there as I took 5 of the 7 they had in that size.

Figure it is a few years old, but having been on a shelf for most of those years doesn't really bug me. I'll run them 5-7k like normal.

at my local aap i found a blue 34631 i use on my camaro it was behind 2 of the newer ones that are about a inch shorter
