I think I see more Yukon Denalis than Escalades here anyway. Maybe I'm wrong in my assessment of the Escalade, but if it was me buying I'd rather have the Yukon Denali. I see a lot of high trim Tahoes with big factory wheels too. I could be wrong because of the way they stand out to me, but I swear I see more Lyrics than new body style Escalades. I live in a small area that is kind of booming for business right now(new higher end bars/restaurants, a brewery, and curated antique stores. I think we might be those granola heads that @JeffKeryk refers too. It seems like that's translating to more and more buying EVs when buying new. I would have never thought they would get much adoption in the midwest. It's kind of interesting to me because they're still enough of a novelty that it seems other EV owners go out of their way to park next to other EVs. I can't say they're everywhere, but it's much more than I would expect here. I always get a kick out of coming back to my car and seeing a Bolt, EV6, Ioniq 5, or another Tesla parked next to me.

It's not really driving. That's the problem. It's not good enough to drive itself everywhere, so that means the driver is responsible for monitoring it. The best solution is just not use these systems and drive it yourself because you'll deal with the consequences of the accident anyway.

SC govt bankrupted our utility. It was formerly very well run. Then they decided the government could be general contractor. They put their crony's in charge. End result is I now get electricity from Dominion, a publicly traded for profit monopoly. Our rates keep going up.

If you somehow believe Dominion Energy is more ethical than Exxon, your delusional. Neither are. There goal is to maximize profit for their shareholders - as it should be.

If you can somehow stay off the grid and produce your own electricity, thats a different matter. For most its the same cabal. And if you don't like gas prices, just wait for your electricity prices when we need 100% more electricity. We haven't increased electricity production in something like 30 years, and big data / AI is already scooping up all future capacity - they already have the contracts signed.

The only source close to economic viability is to extract hydrogen from natural gas. But that defeats the stated purpose of hydrogen.

Electricity nor hydrogen has the infrastructure here for transportation use. So you better get building either way.

You seem to somehow think that politicians are not involved in electricity production, and I gave you an example of exactly how much they are. You think it would be any different with expanding the electrical grid?

Were not 50% underutilized at night. Peak to trough is maybe 50% in a few places but it peaks and bottoms for a very short period of time and completely ignores the interconnects. You would have to put EV charging on some sort of transmitted smart charge system based on capacity and demand, which no one is even talking about let alone doing.
