Best/Worst A/C Performance in a car?

All three of my current cars have excellent A/C. The worst was my 1973 Bavaria, which was the era when the Germans didn't believe that the US temperatures were as high as they actually were (there's a funny story about how US BMW engineers taught the German engineers a hard lesson, but I digress).
That said, apparently replacing the York reciprocating compressor with a modern rotary compressor can make a huge difference.

I wasn't thinking about this, my Dad bought a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 new. I inherited it from him. AC always was cold! As it got closer to 200,000 miles maybe 170k miles or so the compressor clutch would slip at any rpm above idle! So if we were stuck in traffic I would turn on the A/C, but like I said only if it was idling in traffic. Otherwise windows went down.

I thought about it and was going to replace the clutch, but the more I looked into it, I found out the ac compressor clutch was only slipping because the whole entire compressor was locking up when forced to increase its speed.

Truck frame got rusty, cross members broke off under the bed, a torsion bar/ torsion key on the left side broke off the frame! I made repairs that worked out fine for temporary use, however never had a reason to repair the ac issues.
