Best 20K oil

I run 5-7k on full syn.
Might go 10k on a 20k oil but that's it. Same goes for a 20k filter, 10k max I.M.O.
If paying $5 more for oil and $5 more for a filter gets you to run it 50%-100% longer that’s not bad …
The issue becomes what’s the right engine for that ? Tig’s NA Ford sedans seem ok as did our Fusion - but right now between GDI and OLM limits - IMO - don’t feel like I have a 10k application right now …

W0W !!! That's impressive. It's also a completely blatant assumption based on what, exactly?
Total volume sales? Quarts per BITOGer?
Did we have an official survey and I missed it?
Based on this. It's not even close - clearly not a complete poll of the BITOG universe but it's a look in the window and I'd wager it's pretty close to being correct/a good representation.

I've never even read that thread, let alone posted what I use. I try and avoid saying what oil(s), filters, ATF, etc here just to avoid some busy-body give their opinion or story about "I heard..." related to one of them.

Hence why I said:

There is also Castrol Edge EP which isn't discussed much these days. UOA's I've seen suggest Edge EP has better TBN and viscosity retention than M1 (older not Triple Action stuff). Just anecdotal.

I know.... I guess I was just suggesting that it likely not representative (at all). Any poll that first requires a responder to go to the effort of giving data by their own choosing just isn't representative.

It's a window's look and I suspect it would be similar to a full-bore poll.

That survey is obviously not a statistically accurate one.

M1 also was the most used oil on BITOG for 2022.
Further, he claimed that "M1" is the most popular, but the unofficial tally lists "Mobil/Delvac", meaning that ALL Mobil products (including those which are not M1) are all included in that count.

That's garbage science and typical "media-type" assumptions. I'll grant you that it's a survey; a really poorly done one. And the lumping of all Mobil products into one category which you then purport to represent their synthetic line is, well, perposterous.

It's what the guy was basing the numbers you questioned off of so I pointed you to it. I stated this wasn't an accurate poll. I believe if you did a proper poll it would be similar however and so do a few others that have chimed in.

I agree...I wouldn’t have an issue doing 10k/1 year OCI (even though I never have) on my Escape 2.5 Duratec with a nearly 6 qt. sump. OTOH, I wouldn’t go that far on my Focus. 2.0 Duratec with a 4.5 qt. sump. The 2.0 is GDI...the 2.5 isn’t.
