I use Mobil1 EP 20k miles and M1 oil filters with 10k mile intervals for added protection.

Solid oil. Okay filters imo.
And the wheels on the bus go round and round.
I use whatever oil I decide to buy at the time and Honda A02 filter

I don't understand your reference to 'blindly".
His vehicle is aged and DOHC engine is neither lspi-prone or TGDI / GDI. He should be fine using EP for 10k and may have been doing 10k OCIs in the past. We have numerous members here doing the same, without the oil analysis fanfare.
Robb's Signature says Mobil-1 ES 5w30. That should read ESP or EP. Perhaps he will respond again in this thread.
I'm not particularly fond of Robb's choice of K&N oil filters. They are full flow and don't trap well.
Solid oil (I use M1 EP HM on the xB & Corolla in my sig)... Filter-there's better available for less.
Just suggesting that unless you know how your specific engine does with your oil choice after you go north of 7,500 miles on an OCI - it may be a good idea to get a UOA to see how your engine is doing with your oil choice . Of course , you can do as you please - it’s your engine , oil and wallet.

Ì own a 2008 Corolla that drives 55 miles one way.i get 95%highway driving. Oil intervals come quickly, I use M1 EP oil and filter past 200k miles.
I just bought a 6 pack of Puralator BOSS filters and will try them out.
The K&N filter I put on the spare car cause I had it around.

That car and commute should handle 10k mile interval with ease with M1 EP. Might even go crazy and try longer, just mind the filter ratings.
The filter is rated for 20k miles, so I feel safe running it to 10k miles, just like the oil.
I used to run Fram Ultra three intervals of 5-6K miles. I felt safe running the filter to 15-18K
Well, now comes the interval oil change on the 08 Corolla and I am using a different oil filter for first time ever. This car has only used Mobil1 EP oil filter and this time I'm using a Puralator BOSS
