Induction charging. What about households with four drivers? Where will they park for recharging? How many cars can be charged at once?

Not really possible when you have 500 million potential customers in rural areas which require upgrades to the power infrastructure. In any case that's a decision of the govt in China not Audi. It’s just virtue signaling. If they really wanted to make a difference they would phase out ICE in China…
Europeans drive approx 7,000 miles/yr. I think the average lease on an Audi in the US is 10k/miles yr or less. I think they'll do fine.Nonsense. The interstates are clogged with motorists of all sorts, all of whom need far more energy density than batteries can provide. Jaguar, Audi, VW and others will find themselves unable to sell their products to customers with real needs.

A lot can happen in 10 yrs. The problems with California isn't technical but one of competing priorities. They way things are trending I expect a mass exodus from the state over water/forest fires, and the grid will surely be able to handle those who remained behind. That infrastructure in the US is so much more prepared for ICE phase out.
California will lead the way.![]()
Ya none at all.I'm sure they just came to this decision and didn't do any market research or forecasting at all

Audis are luxury cars. People with electric Audis can just park all 4 of their cars in the garage. What about households with four drivers? Where will they park for recharging? How many cars can be charged at once?
You are aware that VW made this same announcement over two years ago right? Do you really think that Audi would not follow VW? These companies along with everyone else have been investing billions of dollars over the last couple of years into developing BEV's.That infrastructure in the US is so much more prepared for ICE phase out.

Just so we are clear - Audi is absolutely doing this to virtue signal with their target demographic. They want to sell cars and their clientele are majority urban wealthy - EXACTLY the type that they are signaling.
My point about China is that the world is giving China a pass on being the world leader on emissions while using gov subsidized cheap Chinese Labor to mine rare earth metals and offshore dirty EV battery and panel production.
When you look at the scale of human rights abuses and destruction caused by our own western virtue signaling it’s really just embarrassing.
Proponents seem perfectly fine with it as long as it’s happening somewhere else. Welcome to the world we live in.

Knee jerk reaction to the agenda. This is what you get when the opinions of a 16 yr old with less brains than a 50c cigar cutter and geriatric gigolo (not mentioning any names, not political) are considered relevant experts.I'm sure they just came to this decision and didn't do any market research or forecasting at all

I’m mixed on this. It will work for some, not for others. In a way it’s bad - those without the means for all the right tools (a short distance and long distance vehicle), they will be compromised. At the same time the opposite is the case, use electric where it makes sense, and leave other resources like liquid fuels for applications that really need it. Its pretty silly to burn half a gallon of liquid fuel so your 2500 pickup can be driven unloaded three miles each way to the circle K to get a cup of boiled peanuts.Europeans drive approx 7,000 miles/yr. The omission of names means your post isn’t political? Is that really the precedent we’re looking to establish?Knee jerk reaction to the agenda. As an enthusiast who has a preference for 6 speeds, I couldn't get on board. But they don't build cars for us anymore anyway.
