Anyone use a filter for a week then reuse later?

I put this filter on by mistake (it fits but is not what I wanted on the vehicle)so I removed it and installed another oil filter.

I drained the oil and put the "used" filter in a sealed bag, but am not sure I should use it again on another (older) vehicle. It is not a cheapo filter but if you think it is compromised then I'll toss it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Reuse it. IMO...it shouldn't be a problem on your older vehicle. No use is wasting a good filter.

Done that many times. If the gasket is good, should be fine.

Some of the obsessive/compulsive posters do it all the time. When they change their oil....they use a cheap synthetic and run it for a couple of hundred miles. They then drain the oil and filter to save both for their next OCI.

Then they replace the cheapo synthetic oil and filter with what they want to run to 10K to 15K. They say, in their comments, that this method is the only reliable way to keep your engine clean. They also state, in their comments, that this methold insures 100% removal of all the old oil and is their best way of completely removing the old oil from the 10K to 15K run.

Check that gasket, mofo. Then if it's safe, re-use it.
