Here are my Ice Trax for getting around ice in the mountains. Not exactly for Ice Climbing but they may prevent you from busting a hip on icy sidewalks and roads. I wore out a pair in the last two years and here is my second set. Available on Amazon.

One winter my wife kept falling down... Slipping on snow/ice. Finally, I told her it's her shoes & sure enough there was no tread.. completely bald shoes.. 😄

Got her some outdoor style shoes & the problem went away. Had no idea they had these strapons. 😀

Yup, went hiking in West Bragg Creek on December 31st. Lots of icy patches. I have a number of sets going back about 10years. The latest ones from amazon need regular yellow spike replacements dots. when it's really icy i have a pair of these that really grab:

I have those and the ones with the coil springs wrapped around rubber strands, these are older and not made anymore? My wife has the type you're showing here, and when she walks the dogs this winter, she puts them on before heading out the door, but it upsets me because I've warned her about the potential of damage to our floors (ceramic tile and pergo) from her clomping. I can't win.

These are definitely just put on outside on the step. Never in the house.

I took a tumble already, the parking lot at work is unpaved and basically a skating rink at the moment. I went to get in the car and one foot went out from under me as I went to turn and sit down.

Luckily I felt it coming and compensated, so it ended up being one of those slow cartoonish falls that's more embarrassing than painful.

She was racin' in the rain on slicks!

I have a pair of these ice cleats I use when it gets dicey.

9 years ago tomorrow! Bald shoes on ice. Actually summer tread on ice. Broken distal radius. Plate and 8 screws. It happened on Monday the 9th and I had to wait until Friday the 13th for surgery!View attachment 318963View attachment 318964View attachment 318965View attachment 318966View attachment 318967View attachment 318968View attachment 318969
Looks like an Acumed wrist plate. 9 years ago? I may have very well been involved with the manufacturing of this. 🤫

I’ve slipped, but not fallen on ice. In 08 in Afghanistan while on patrol/assistance to the local ANP station, I watched a ton of locals busting their butts all over the place in sandals on the ice. Not one of them could get traction, there were only a handful of them intelligent enough to walk anywhere other than hard surfaces.

There's ice in Afghanistan?
I thought it was like a desert or something.
