I thought for sure we'd be one of the first waves to receive the stimulus check so I kept checking the bank account all day Wednesday and Thursday but nothing. Went on to their website and entered my info only to find out that we qualify but dont have a direct deposit account set up with them somehow, even though they take the money from the same account every year.

Ditto.

Just entered our info on the IRS site, curious to see how long it takes.

Fortunately we aren't in need of the money, but I can see how for people that do, this could be a serious set back through no fault of their own. Everyone was told that if you already receive your refunds or pay via direct deposit then there was nothing for you to do. Apparently that wasn't the whole story.

That doesn't make any sense because it goes to the taxpayer's address of record. The tax preparer is 1-2 lines only on the form that's prepared. That sounds like Facebook gossip.... No offense.... and it's not worth repeating. The IRS has indicated that if someone used H&R Block or similar and did the "instant refund", you'll get a paper check. Reason for that is, your refund was given to that preparer who loaned you the money instantly (after they take out add'l fees).

Has zero relevance to getting a stimulus check or not.

Do people know the IRS has a website with lots of info on these checks, FAQ, and so on ? Really no need for speculation, gossip, and so on.

You will get a paper check. I haven't filed our 2019 return this year but at the point I was at in completing them, we were going to owe a few hundred dollars it appeared. We owed in 2018 as well so there was no refund and no need to give the IRS our bank account information.

Haven't gotten it yet.

We don't need the money. After this whole thing has blown over and if it's not needed, we are donating it.

Wife and I got ours Monday
My father who gets his SS deposited directly but doesn't need to file hasn't gotten his yet.....Anyone else like my father gotten yours?

I apologize for asking a question on someone else's thread

I haven't gotten mine yet but my friend has. I went to the link that was on the first page of this topic and it says there's not enough info (even though I already filed my 2019 taxes months ago.)

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said at a White House briefing on April 2, that those Americans who have signed up for direct deposit will receive their payment within two weeks.

The payments will be deposited directly into your bank account if you received your last tax refund or expect to receive this year's refund that way.

Otherwise, checks will be mailed, which could take longer...

Americans with the lowest income will get mailed checks first, according to reporting by the Washington Post. Here's the timetable for the first checks, per IRS documents seen by the Post:

Taxpayers with income up to $10,000: April 24

Taxpayers with income up to $20,000: May 1

Taxpayers with income up to $40,000: May 15

The rest of the checks will be issued by gradually increasing income increments each week. Households earning $198,000 who file jointly will get their reduced checks on Sept. 4. The last group of checks will be sent on Sept. 11 to those who didn't have tax information on file and had to apply for checks, according to the Washington Post.

I'm same as you, paid via direct deposit 2019.
I believe the people who got checks already are those who got a refund via direct deposit in either 2018 2019 or both

Forgot to add that the Casinos in Colorado are still closed.
I would have stimulated the economy at a slot machine.

Married and 5 kids here and already filed taxes so we got ours already in direct deposit. I don't feel bad at all about getting this since we fell right into the marriage penalty area of taxes when we got married. I have also hit the bracket jumps a few time that made a few pay raises into pay cuts.

Guessing that too much in-earnings, are why some are denied here.

Yes, a little too much + capital gains.

You would chuckle at my 1040-V.

Just about everyone I know that gets one has it. Just 1 friend (wife and kid) is waiting but I think there is a bank account mix up.

His should be coming. There's no specific timeline.

This isn't anyone's thread. Someone started it, but that's it.... Anyone is allowed to comment, ask questions, and so on. No worries.

I file taxes, but did not get a refund, so they don't have bank acct. info at IRS. However, I do get SS direct deposited, but I have not got mine yet.

I just went to the IRS site and input my info to find out about my stimulus payment and I get this message:

"Payment Status Not Available"

No other info is given. On top of this, they left a message on their website that says no one is available to answer calls or to receive emails. I read through the explanation of who is eligible to receive it, and my wife and I qualify for the $2400. I know they don't have my account info to do direct deposit because my account number has changed recently, but what's so hard about putting a check in the mail?

Still nothing

.

I rechecked it and it was my address that needed change, IRS still has same account # as last time. Now reading next chance is by or on April 24 ???
