My dog has never had trouble before this year (Always used Frontline or Advantix II) but the fleas seem resistant to everything. Advantix is actually supposed to repel fleas...not working at all.

We have hardwood floors so at least our carpeting is not infested-

Anyone one have any ideas?

THIS , THIS , THIS for the yard, and THIS for inside the house. The Archer IGR can be mixed with the Conquer and sprayed at the same time. We seemed to get overrun with fleas outside for the last couple of years and I had used everything on the shelf at Lowe's to battle them. Nothing worked. We would be literally covered in fleas just by taking a walk from the driveway to the front steps. I finally got fed up, did some research, and spent the extra coin on the above items. Initial knockdown outside was good and then we reapplied about 10 days later. Mixed a gallon in the pump sprayer and applied around baseboard inside once. No more fleas for the rest of the summer! We applied it earlier this summer and we haven't seen a flea on us or the dog this year. You have to disrupt the life cycle with an IGR in order to control the population and avoid spraying the pesticide every couple of weeks. There is a ton of info available on these two products if you want to Google and do some reading.

we are having heck with fleas right now. Never before has it been this bad. Seems resistant to everything and then some.

You can apply this to a dog?

I bought a 20 lb bag that was used for livestock. It is edible, but to critters with exoskeleton it is sharp and that is what kills them when they come in contact. If your pet eats it then it cleans junk in lining of colon. That was what I used it for. Good to use for roaches also. Not good to use around eyes.

Try some 20 Mule team Borax. Back when I had a flea problem, I used a sifter and lightly dusted the upholstery, area rugs, and the dog bed in the crate. The borax acts as a dessicant and dries out the flea eggs and adult bodies. Also good against roaches. About 3 dollars a box. Just make sure the borax is brushed into the fabric.

Just my .02.

So I've noticed. I have two cats, both longhairs, and the panda-looking one is a breed (Siberian) with a triple coat. I've treated them both with Frontline, but I still see fleas on Chekov's white face every day or so. There's no hope of spotting a flea on the black cat.

Vacuuming the carpet every week helps.
