Any if you have knee problems?

Shin splints? A better fitting shoe may help since you're up all day. Take a light few days when you can and see if that helps.

I have a strange issue with my right knee. It feels like a slight sun burn off and on around my skin on my knee cap. The knee itself doesn't hurt but it's definitely a feeling I haven't felt before. It's like the outer part and then goes down my shin a tad. I'm someone that's on their feet all day long. I don't do any running or anything ike that l, just walking mainly
Maybe mild arthritis? I have some in my knees, and the odd time after some strenuous exercise, or sitting still too long at the computer/car, my knee will feel warm to the touch, or even when I have a mild cold or flu virus.
I used to not exercise nearly enough and my knees/whole body felt way worse though. Consult your doc and a physiotherapist, but in my limited and unqualified experience, walking is better than doing absolutely nothing, but not all that much unless you are breathing hard... It is afterall, the most efficient way to travel, but I think one needs more muscles involved to get a workout in, and doing strenuous exercise, swimming, push ups, shorter distance running, hiking in the hills, mountain biking, skiing, has made my legs/body feel much better, and I can do more kneeling, or crouching than I could before.

I walk all day long. I think I've overdone it. I'm on my feet for work all day, then come home and the dog is always getting into something making me get up every 5 minutes etc.

Unlike the guy with one post on the board since signing up years ago, who knew what the problem was without listing qualifications, or evaluating the OP in person, I'm going to suggest seeing an orthopedic doctor who specializes in these types of situations.

Going to the doctor is like going to the mechanic. They're going to find a problem

Well, I'll just wish you good luck then.

FWIW, I was a Mechanic. I had ethics, and DIDN'T find problems where there weren't ones. In fact I walked away from the Dealership setting, because I was unwilling to compromise my ethics, to bilk customers. I know a few very skilled Orthpedic doctors, who also have ethics, and aren't looking to create issues where there isn't one.

The guy whose singular post on the board was apparently removed, may have been right in his diagnoses. But failed to list his qualifications, AND didn't evaluate you in person. Making the stated diagnoses virtually useless.

I've had issues with one knee since an injury in my late teens. In my case Glucosamine and Chondroitin tablets, along with exercise, is keeping the knee replacement routine at bay.

I had a great experience with an orthopedic surgeon. He looked at my MRI, asked if my back pain had improved at all in the past few months (a bit) and advised that I wait to see if things got better in their own (they did). He could have done the surgery and earned his money but didn't and at this point in my life, I'm probably a lot better off for it.

How old are you ?

Do you have any varicose veins ?
No, I forgot to mention it doesn't look any different than the other knee. No swelling, not any bigger etc.

—————————

I had endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) for varicose veins on my left leg and all my knee pain went away.
My outer left leg looked like I had spaghetti under my skin. My outer skin was very itchy due to the blood pooling in the varicose veins.

Simple procedure that took 20 minutes and a little bit painful.

Definitely see a doctor for your leg.

See your primary doctor and possibly get a referral.

The only advice you should get from this forum is to wear good supportive shoes. A chiropractor told me shoes no longer provide good support before they look beat up.

My surgeon from a motorcycle accident with a bad leg/knee injury told me that shoes used daily are worn out in 6 months - replace them. I haven't followed his advice religiously, but I'm much more apt to replace a pair of shoes than I used to be.

He was adamant that your knees do not get the support they need after 6 months of wearing the same shoes.

wear some good knee pads when ever needed, you will thank yourself in later years, and good shoes/work boots especially when on a ladder.

I think it's my IT band. That's the only thing in that area that would be hurting. I guess that's better than a whole knee being worn out.
